This domain is very respectful of the environment and uses little intervention just lots of hard work and indigenous plants and animals to ensure the best from the vines. The grape varieties are at home in this region, Syrah, Grenache and Carignan. The winemaking expertise has been inherited from a family that has been working the vineyards since the 17th Century. Even the weather is local, a microclimate that is cooler than other parts north of Montpellier, giving more depth to the wines. The choice of name for this wine was an obvious one. The wine has character and balance. The dark fruits blend well with the spiciness from the oak barrels. The finish is smooth and long. The type of wine that goes with, well something local.
