One of a clutch of new wines coming from parts of Portugal not widely recognised for wine producing.  This producer is based on the Setùbal Peninsular 40km south of Lisbon on the northern bank of the Sado River estuary.  A long way south but with the cooling winds of the Atlantic this makes for ideal weather conditions.  The blend of grapes is part traditional, such as Fernāo Pires and part international, Chardonnay.  Partly fermented in new Maderia oak barrels, partly in stainless steel, the result is a joyful combination of fruit and freshness.  Ideal with grilled fish.
