The charming village of Saint Bris is a stone throw from Auxerre and is often over-shadowed by its much more celebrated neighbour Chablis and almost completely forgotten when it comes to any discussion of Bourgogne wines. However right in the centre both physically and spiritually of this commune is Domaine Goisot run with an abundance of passion and dedication by Ghislaine and Jean-Hugues who can trace their family involvement in wine making back 14th century. Saint Bris is the only appellation in Bourgogne that can use Sauvignon Blanc. This is a truly modern tasting wine made biodymanically using traditional methods. The richness and complexity of the wine is amazing, it could fend off any challenges from the New World and certainly compares favourably with Sauvignon Blancs from the Loire.
