Vermentino is widely grown in Sardinia and Corsica and is starting to become very popular in Languedoc Roussillon as the innovative domains look to diversify and look at new possibilities. Quite often the grapes have to be harvested early to maintain good acidity levels as there is a tendency to be very aromatic and floral. This is for me a delightful example, the crispness gives an good slap in the chops followed by gentle fruit and herbal components. Not overly complicated this will accompany grilled fish with ease.
