Domaine Preignes le Vieux is a part of the Domaine Robert Vic, the ones that do the extraordinarily good Petit Pont range. The Alleutier is on an equally footing as the Petit Pont Rouge with possibly a bit more structure making it more a wine to accompany a meaty dish. It is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot this marriage is famous around the world and with good reason. There are strong blackberry and mure flavours that blend well with soft tannins and hint of green pepper acidity. The result is near perfect and shows other regions what can be done in this price range.
