A brilliant example of how wines are made in this neck of the woods. The VDQS (Vin Délimité de Qualité Supérieure) still holds sway in the Vendée while elsewhere it has become less used. It is governed like the AC by the INAO and is every bit as strict. So this producer is proud of his region and the wines he produces in a typical Vendéen style. It is a blend of Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. A bright cherry red colour with plenty of fruity aromas. Smooth and fresh on the palate this has lovely red fruit flavours balanced with a good tannin content. Forget the stuff you have had on holiday this is a great wine suited to a good meaty dish.
