So often producers try to get as much wine as they can from the limited area they have. Here, Stéphanie Ponson, who runs Mas Nicot, has since 2000 restricted the production to allow the grapes to ripen before the heavy autumnal rain which often cause real damage to the crop. This means they only produce 8000 bottles, now to you and me that sounds a lot, but just consider that a certain blue religious lady produces enough for every inhabitant in London to have a bottle. This wine is a lovely blend of Grenache Blanc, Marsanne and a touch of Viognier, beautiful floral aromas and just the right amount of citrussy crispness. Hurry, there are only 7999 left.
