Just as the Centrale Massif starts to fall away towards the beautiful azure of the Mediterranean there is a curtain of vineyards and a part of this is a small domain, Mas as it called in the area, run by the same family since the 17th century. Very little chemical intervention takes place just a lot of hard work, the soil here is really tough, the sun can cook the fruit if left exposed and even getting around the dirt tracks is difficult. The grapes are as you would expect Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre. The resulting wine is well balanced; the dark berry fruits and spiceness mix nicely with the crispness and tannins. This is great little wine.
